Fireworks - Staffordshire, UK (CDD)
The aim of Fireworks is to provide children and young people in primary and secondary schools with the skills they need to grow up empowered and able to support their own mental health. Their philosophy is if they are able to empower children now, as they grow into adults, they will be educated about mental health and will know how to look after their own mental health and pass these skills onto the new generations. They achieve this through various activities like workshops in schools, incorporating mindfulness, music, and animal-based programs to promote positive messages and resilience. Their current focus is in two areas:
The young persons programme. They want to take on a school leaver who has additional needs and help them to develop their skills and confidence, enabling them to move on into the working world with experience and skills on their CV and the ability to take the skills they have been able to support them in growing into a new role. This would be like an apprenticeship role but with a focus on mental the emotional well-being.
School sessions. The main area of their work, running sessions in schools supporting children and young people in their mental health. These sessions happen a minimum of four days a week and have shown to be valuable by both pupils and staff. Staff often feedback the positive differences that they see in the pupils after undertaking a course of our sessions.
We are very happy to have supported Fireworks with a CDD of £5000 in July of 2025 toward these two programmes. Please visit their website to learn more about their important work here:
