OVER 64K IN DONATIONS, A BRAND NEW PARTNER & MORE - LYT JULY 2026

Dear Team LYT -

Happy Summer!  We hope you're all enjoying some lovely warm days. We have some sunshine of our own to share -  in our largest donation period yet, over 64k in donations were given!  We have a brand new partner to share with you, and more.  Grab a cold drink and dive in!

OVER 64K IN DONATIONS PRESENTED TO OUR PARTNERS

 To start the second half of 2026 off, we wind down our time with Holyoke Collective, our partners in Massachusetts, USA.  Thanks to the fantastic support of our donor community, as well as two extremely generous gifts who wish to remain annonymous, we are excited to share news of a donation of £23,000 to Holyoke Collective!  This funding allows the project to continue their amazing work creating better access to healthy food for everyone, their policy work of advocating for access to community gardens and other food benefits, their vital diaper distribution program, and continued growth across all of their amazing programs. 

We’re excited to help set their next year in motion and can’t wait to hear how things progress over the coming months. 

In addition to this donation to our 6 month partner, we're fortunate to have the ability to support an additional record SEVEN Community Development Donations (CDDs) - 

  • £7,860 in continued growth support to previous partner Music for Memories in the UK

  • £4,600 for a food support program to previous partner Transformation through Education in Zambia

  • £10,000 in much needed funding to our partners at Zac's Place in Swansea, UK

  • £5,000 of support toward new classrooms for new partner Roots Sudan in Yei, Sudan

  • £5,000 gifted in support of new partner Calais Food Collective for their refugee food program through the winter in Calais, France

  • £4,022 to new partner Jig-So Children's Centre in Cardigan, Wales, UK in support of a peer support group for parents babies and toddlers 

  • £4,564 to new partner Busega Scotland in Tanzania to aid in meeting the shortfall in funding for their Moving On project, helping young people attend university students

MEET OUR NEW PARTNER:  ACCOMPLISH CHILDREN'S TRUST

Uganda & Eastern Africa

 Accomplish Children's Trust is a UK-based charity that works with small independent charity groups and community-based projects in rural Africa, including Uganda, Malawi, Kenya & more.   They empower grassroots organisations to make a difference in their communities by supporting projects for disabled children that promote:

  • Education

  • Medical Needs

  • Income Generation

  • Community Outreach

Accomplish Trust focus on remote parts of Africa where disability is poorly understood and often seen as a curse, and where disabled children are sometimes described as worthless.  Their mission is to change attitudes so that every child is loved and respected, and has the opportunity to thrive.  They work with grassroots organisations run by local people. They are best placed to understand the local needs, to provide support for families and caregivers, and to change attitudes in their communities.

 While Accomplish Trust work on a vast number of projects with very limited budget, our partnered focus will be in support of 3 main areas of their work:

Expanding their Rural Epilepsy Clinics Programme 

 They have successfully developed and supported the running of eight rural epilepsy clinics in two districts in western Uganda for over ten years bringing treatment to hundreds of previously untreated children who can therefore start to attend school and eventually get jobs and raise a family, unimaginable a few years ago. Educatng families about epilepsy is a key factor. There is an increasing, heart-wrenching call for more clinics in other districts which still can be co-ordinated from their project (KCDC) in Fort Portal. So far each clinic treats between 80 and 100 children and costs Accomplish about £2/child/month(!!) for treatment and assessment 

RAPCD Schools

 Building maintenance and providing firm pathways and ramps to buildings at their schools for blind, deaf and physically disabled children. A recent visit to Kasese by Accomplish trustees highlighted access issues for wheelchairs at their primary and secondary schools, especially during the rainy seasons when the ground turns to mud. As yet there isn’t a budget for this work. There is an additional need for essential maintenance on the oldest buildings and washroom.

 RSNF’s New Vocational Training Centre

The new vocational training centre near Fort Portal is fabulous and training young disabled adults. These students will graduate in December ready to be launched into their own village businesses, supported by the RSNF staff. To do this each student is given a starter pack. The cost varies depending on the vocation but the total for 60 students will be in the region of £6,000.
